Thank you to START Planner for partnering with me on this post.
I don’t know about all of y’all, but this year was something. There were definitely some good things that happened (like sweet Eli joining our family), but overall I feel like 2016 was quite challenging. I love when a new year starts and I have a new opportunity to clear all the past junk out of my head, get organized, get re-energized and set new goals for myself and my family. I’m not the most organized person in the world *hello scatterbrained mess* so I usually need something to help me stay on track. I recently got the START planner and it is by far the best planner I’ve ever used!
This planner covers every aspect of my life so I can keep everything on track, organized and in line with my new goals. It has a place to write out goals for each category in life, a place to write specific goals, deadlines for those goals, and action steps to reach them. There’s a space to track all holiday activities and spending, projects and to plan out and organize vacations. You can track home maintenance, charitable giving, you’re given a cleaning schedule, keep up with water intake, working out, eating right, taking vitamins, create grocery lists, plan meals, and you can keep up with all of your finances and budgeting. I wasn’t kidding when I said this planner has EVERYTHING you need to keep your life organized and on track.
This planner is exactly what I needed for this new year! I had such a hard time staying on top of a lot of those things this year, so having a place where I can write it down, plan it out and see it daily is crucial. Now that I’ve told you how awesome this planner is, I want to share some of my personal goals with y’all! Not only do I think sharing goals is inspiring and encouraging, but it holds the person with the goals more accountable for reaching them.
I think most of us moms can agree that keeping things more simple and organized at home makes life way less hectic. I plan on using my planner and being more organized this year. Having a schedule to stay on top of my laundry and cleaning can only help my sanity, right? 😉 To go along with that though, I also want to be more present with my kiddos. That’s why I’m strategically planning my cleaning times during the boy’s naps.
I have a great marriage, but no marriage is perfect so I am really focusing on strengthening my marriage and making more time for just me and my husband. Date nights, unplugged time in the evenings together, etc. I’m also working on connecting with more bloggers (I’m thankful to have made a TON of friends in the blogging community) and more local moms.
Something I stink at right now is praying and reading my bible daily. It’s something that shouldn’t be hard to squeeze into my day, but I let things get so hectic that I end up just not doing it. So starting my day with just 15 minutes or so to read a bit and pray is going to be something I really strive to do.
I’m not too excited about this one yet haha but Landon and I are going get a gym membership together and start working out. He’s always been really into fitness, but me… Not so much. I do know that I need to take better care of myself and make my health a priority though, so I’m making it a point to get up and shower and get ready daily, take my vitamin, cut down on junk food and work out with my husband.
And everybody said, “YIKES.” There’s very few people I know that don’t have some financial issues. Whether it’s just making it each month, credit card debt, student loans. It’s tough. I won’t go into numbers here, but with Landon’s new job our goal is to triple our current income in 2017 so that we can either buy or rent a home. We plan on paying off all of our credit card debt in January and February and starting to save up a down payment!
I have so many goals for my blog and social media in the new year. For those of you that don’t know much about the blogging world, the fact that I want to hit 10,000 Instagram followers might not make sense, but it will open up a whole new world of business and collaborations for me! I also want to reach 10,000 page views per month on my blog in 2017. The more views I have, the more people I can impact. That’s pretty freaking cool.
CRUISE. I have never been on one, but my husband has and loves to tell me all about what I’m missing out on ha. I would love to go on a cruise with Landon for our 6 year anniversary in June. I would also love to go on family vacations to Fredericksburg, Galveston and Branson. I also am planning on exploring Dallas more and getting to know the city better.
So, that’s it! Now I would love to hear from you, what are some of your goals for 2017?!
